Asiaq collects, processes and presents data on climate, hydrology and environment in Greenland.

Group composition

The subject group consists of engineers, geographers and geologists. Data collection is carried out in close cooperation with Asiaq’s workshop.

Data archive

Data are continuously quality assured and saved in Asiaq’s database, and Asiaq has thus accumulated a considerable archive of data on climatic and hydrological conditions in Greenland.

Group responsibilities

Mainly the group’s assignments consist of collecting, quality assuring and providing data from Asiaq’s climate and hydrological stations as described in the Hydrology Project and the Weather Observation Project. Concurrently, special assignments are carried out for public and private organizations and companies.

In addition, Asiaq participates as a partner in research projects, in which international researchers can utilize Asiaq’s expertise and data series as well as the logistic and technical competencies that have developed through more than 15 years of experience in data collection in Greenland. These include the Permafrost Project, NuukBasic and Zackenberg.
