Geodata and the Map Store
Asiaq’s Geodata Group carries out mapping of every single town and settlement in Greenland. In addition, we provide services and advice on use of GIS – Geographic Information Systems, and using this tool we manage Greenland’s Land Register, NIN. Please contact Subject Coordinator Bo Naamansen. The Geodata Group includes mapping and surveying technicians, a GIS consultant and a chartered surveyor. We produce digital maps and can provide a number of map products in digital form for CAD and GIS as well as on paper and in PDF format. Our map products are widely used in the Greenlandic society, but especially in public administration and in building activities. Our base maps are also available by subscription. Please contact the Map Store.
MapInfo GIS and WebGIS
We enable our customers to process our digital maps further on their PCs by offering MapInfo GIS and tutorials in this. GIS links the digital map with database information, which makes it possible to see our base maps, ortophotos (air photos), the customer’s own map and many others, e.g. on the Internet. In the coming structural reform of Greenland, GIS will become a key word in geographical communication, both in the form of MapInfo on individual PCs and on the Internet via WebGIS. At Asiaq we work to supply the Greenlandic society with knowledge of the new possibilities by providing advice on GIS and WebGIS, and we collaborate with others on establishing WebGIS in Greenland. Please contact GIS consultant Karl Brix Zinglersen.
