Technical base maps

We update the technical base maps of the towns and settlements in Greenland. The mapping is made at different detail levels with an accuracy of 3-10 cm.

The update of the base map is performed by means of aerial photography with subsequent measuring in the aerial photograph (photogrammetry) and local surveying by means of GPS.

The base map provides a detailed picture of the infrastructure, fixtures, technical installations and topography of the towns and settlements, such as buildings, building numbers, street names, harbours, airports and streams.

The base map also contains a detailed picture of the shape of the terrain, displayed by means of height information in a Digital Terrain Model (DTM).

In connection with mapping, aerial photography is performed over towns and settlements. In more rare occasions, also over open land. You are therefore also able to see aerial photographs of most localities.

About sewer maps

We survey and update maps of cesspools and sewage pipes for the local authorities in Greenland. The task is paid for by the applicant.

Sewer surveying is performed by means of GPS and the registration complies with the DANVA standards adapted for Greenland. The sewer map provides a detailed picture of the sewerage systems in the towns and settlements and shows their discharge into the sea.
