Asiaq is a partner of Greenland Ecosystem Monitoring (GEM), which is an integrated and long-term research project on the effect of ecosystems and feedback of climate changes in the Arctic regions.
Asiaq is responsible for the climate measuring at the research stations in Nuuk Basic (close to Nuuk) and Zackenberg (North-east Greenland). The Danish Energy Authority is funding the activities at Nuuk Basic, whereas Asiaq's activities at Zackenberg are funded by the Greenland Self-Government.
The other programmes at the stations are managed by Greenland Institute of Natural Resources, University of Aarhus, University of Copenhagen and GEUS.
In addition to these projects, Asiaq participates in a project regarding the development of the marginal zone of the inland ice, a feature which is also relevant to the size of water resources with direct run-off from the inland ice.
